Will there be a “capture the flag” mode?
We don’t know
yet. Last thing we heard they were still deciding on this.
How is decided who the commander will be?
By default, the
person who has the highest rank on the server will become the commander.
However, this can be overridden by a simple vote. So, in short, the person with
either the highest rank or the most votes becomes the commander.
Will we be able to destroy everything?
I’m afraid not.
Only certain objects can be destroyed because of gameplay issues. Some objects
that can be destroyed will affect gameplay, such as a bridge for example.
Others can just be destroyed for fun, such as a window.
How moddable will the game be?
We don’t really
know that, of course. But we do know that Digital Illusions is working with
several mod teams in order to improve their tools and make the game features
more accessible.
Will there be infrared and night vision
goggles?
We don’t know
yet, sorry.
Why is the game called Battlefield 2? Did
they forget about Battlefield Vietnam?
Battlefield Vietnam isn’t
considered to be a real sequel to Battlefield 1942, even though much of the
press thought of it that way.
Will there be a story-orientated
singleplayer campaign?
No real details
have been released about this yet, but they do claim that Battlefield 2’s
singleplayer has been enhanced. Keep in mind that the game will continue to be
primarily about providing a great multiplayer experience.
What factions will be present in
Battlefield 2?
There will be
three factions. The United States Army, the Chinese Army, and the (fictional)
Middle East Coalition.
What settings will the levels take place
in?
The game will
take place in two main locations; the Middle East and the Far
East. Not all levels will be set in a desert environment, though.
Mountainous terrain and beaches will also be included, as well as forests.
I heard Battlefield 2 will take place in
the future. Does this mean we will get laser weapons and hover tanks?
I’m afraid not.
The game takes place in the near future, so don’t expect to see any of the
things you may find in most science-fiction stories.
